Disable Internet Download Manager (IDM) automatic update

Internet Download Manager (IDM) as the name itself suggests is windows software which helps to download files by splitting them automatically thereby increasing speed up to 5 times. It easy to use and supports resume and schedule downloads. It is compatible with various browsers and integrates with them for easy download.

Here is a trick to disable the automatic update of IDM, It’s a setting in Windows Registry. If you are unaware of Registry edit Please do not try, otherwise you may end up crashing your Operating System.


IDM_Registry_Fix

Step 1: Open Registry Editor. (Windows Key+R then type regedit )
Step 2: Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DownloadManager\LastCheck
Step 3: Change the date to any date in future like 14/04/25 (dd/mm/yy or mm/dd/yy)
Step 4: Close Registry Editor and restart IDM.
